Joining the knownAs.dev waitlist
knownAs.dev is in private testing, by invitation only. If you join the waitlist, we may invite you when there is room. This page says what happens to the details you give us. It is short on purpose.
Who we are. knownAs.dev is operated by Authecity Systems LLC, 1650 West End Blvd., Suite 100, St. Louis Park, Minnesota 55416, USA. Email privacy@knownas.dev about anything on this page.
What we collect. Only what you type in:
- your email address;
- your name, if you choose to give it. It is optional. We use it only to address your invitation to you.
We do not store your IP address or your browser details with your entry.
Why. To invite you to knownAs.dev, and nothing else. We do not send marketing email, we do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not sell or share your details. We do not use them to train AI models.
No confirmation email. We do not email you just because an address was entered. If you tell us you are eligible (by ticking the box on the form), we invite you at once: we record when you ticked it and which wording you agreed to, and email your invitation within a minute or so, from the address that sends knownAs.dev sign-in links. If the same address asks again, we send it again at most once a day. Otherwise a person at knownAs.dev looks at your entry and decides whether to invite it. Replies go to ops@knownas.dev, where a person reads them. The invitation is the only email the waitlist sends you.
How long we keep it.
- Until we invite you. After that we keep your entry only as long as the invitation is open (7 days if you told us you are eligible, 14 if a person invited you). Then the entry is deleted, whether or not you accepted.
- At most 12 months if we have not invited you by then. The entry is then deleted automatically.
Where it is kept. With Amazon Web Services in the United States (Ohio), encrypted in transit and at rest. If you are in the UK or EU, your details are transferred to the US.
Who can see it. Only the people who run knownAs.dev. We use an AI assistant (Anthropic's Claude) to help build and run the service. While running it, the assistant may see waitlist entries, just as a person on our side would. No AI decides who is invited: a fixed rule does when you tell us you are eligible, and a person does otherwise. If you create an account, the record of your declaration (when, and which wording) is kept with it.
Leaving the list. Email privacy@knownas.dev and ask to be removed. We delete your entry, and we do not need a reason. You can also ask what we hold about you. If you are in the UK or EU, you have further rights, set out in our privacy policy, including the right to complain to your data protection authority.
You must be 18 or older to join.
